Razi University hosted a delegation from Mustaqbal University, Iraq. During this visit, the expansion of scientific and international cooperation was discussed.

According to the Public Relations Office of Razi University, on Saturday, September 6, 2025, a three-member delegation from Mustaqbal University, Iraq, led by Dr. Hassanein Khalil Ibrahim, Head of the Biomedical Sciences and Technology Department, visited Razi University.

The members of the delegation included Dr. Zargam Ali Abbas Kazem, Head of Scientific Affairs, and Dr. Maysam Nabil Muqdad, Coordinator of the Smart Medical Systems Group and a member of the Executive Board at Mustaqbal University. The purpose of the visit was to enhance scientific and technological cooperation between the two universities. The delegation visited the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.

During the visit, a joint meeting was held with the faculty members of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, as well as with members of the Electrical and Computer Engineering departments, where opportunities for bilateral cooperation were discussed. Key points of discussion included:

• Guidance and consultation on graduate theses with the participation of professors from both universities.
• Hosting seasonal schools, especially summer schools, for Mustaqbal University students at Razi University.
• Cooperation in organizing two upcoming international conferences at Mustaqbal University: one in November with a five-member delegation from Razi University as keynote speakers, and another in April of the following year.
  Additionally, a meeting was held at the office of the President of Razi University with Dr. Hooman Salari, Director of the President’s Office, and the Iraqi delegation.

During the meeting, Dr. Salari welcomed the guests and emphasized Razi University’s commitment to expanding cooperation, stating, “We are eager to expand our relationship with Mustaqbal University and welcome your suggestions. Consider Razi University your home; we are fully committed to leveraging all our resources for joint research projects and co-authoring scientific papers.”

Dr. Hassanein Khalil Ibrahim, Head of the Biomedical Sciences and Technology Department at Mustaqbal University, expressed his gratitude for Razi University’s hospitality and mentioned the rich history of collaboration between the two universities. He said, “Over 100 joint papers have been indexed in prestigious international databases like Scopus and ISI, and we hope that with new plans, this cooperation will continue to grow.”

Dr. Shahab Moradkhani, Director of International Scientific Cooperation at Razi University, also remarked, “Between 35 and 40 faculty members and staff from Mustaqbal University are alumni of Razi University, and this scientific and human connection provides a valuable foundation for expanding future cooperation.”

According to the announced schedule, the Mustaqbal University delegation will visit the Faculties of Chemistry and Basic Sciences at Razi University on Sunday, September 7, 2025, and will participate in specialized meetings with the Biology and Physics departments to discuss strategies for expanding research and educational cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the representatives of Mustaqbal University expressed their gratitude to Razi University by presenting a valuable souvenir.

Following this, the delegation visited the Faculty of Science and Chemistry, where they had a meeting with the faculty members. They expressed their support for Razi University professors to participate as keynote speakers at Mustaqbal University’s international conference in November.
