Maryam Zandi, a Ph.D. student at Razi University, successfully defended her doctoral dissertation titled “Development of a Model for Measuring Engagement in English Reading Skills at Various Levels” with a grade of 20 (Excellent).
Dr. Hiwa Veesi from Razi University served as the supervisor, while Professor Sara Mercer from the University of Graz, Austria, was the advisor for this thesis. Professor Mercer is recognized as one of the leading and most influential researchers in the field of English language, particularly in the area of language learning psychology. Collaborating with such a distinguished figure is a point of pride for Razi University.
It is also noteworthy that Ms. Zandi has co-authored a paper with Professor Mercer and Dr. Veesi, which was published in a prestigious JCR Q1 journal, and several other joint papers are currently under preparation.
The internal reviewers for this thesis were Dr. Nooroddin Yousefi and Dr. Shahab Moradkhani from Razi University, while the external reviewers included Professor Mohammad Nabi Karimi from Kharazmi University and Professor Alireza Ahmadi from Shiraz University.
